Tutoring designed to stop
Most tutoring quietly sells you a subscription. The student never actually learns to work alone, so the sessions never end, and that gets treated as a success story.
Teach a kid to fish
I build toward the opposite of a subscription. Alongside the math and the science, your student learns how to learn: how to read a problem, how to check their own work, how to figure out what to do when they are stuck and nobody is sitting next to them.
Give a kid the answer and they pass one assignment. Teach them how to find it and you stop paying for tutoring.
So my goal is not to keep your student on my schedule forever. It is for them to work themselves off it, and to leave with study habits that hold up in classes I never taught them.
Practically, that means most students step down to every other week before stopping entirely. Some come back for a few sessions when a hard unit lands. That is the system working, not failing.
