What changed for real students

Not averages, not marketing math. These are outcomes from students I have worked with one-on-one, alongside what the wider research says you can reasonably expect.

2.1→3.5

GPA, one student

From academic probation territory to comfortably on track for scholarships.

2+

Grade levels gained

A middle school student who came in struggling with language arts moved up two full grade levels.

Hailey is so amazing at tutoring my 2 boys that are in Middle School. One of my sons had some Language Arts trouble that she has helped with and has helped him increase his learning skills 2 full grade levels. I highly recommend her to anyone, she makes learning fun and enjoyable.

What the research says you can expect

One family’s result is a story, not a promise. Here is what the broader evidence supports, so you can judge for yourself.

+5 mo.
Additional academic progress from one-to-one tutoring, on average
72%
Of their classmates outscored after tutoring by a trained teacher, up from half

Sources: Education Endowment Foundation Teaching and Learning Toolkit; Nickow, Oreopoulos and Quan, a systematic review and meta-analysis of 96 randomized studies of PreK-12 tutoring. The 72% figure is the percentile a median student reaches in the subgroup of programs where tutoring was delivered by trained teachers, which outperformed non-professional tutoring.

An honest note on timelines

Confidence and homework friction usually shift within two or three weeks. A letter grade takes longer, because the grade book has to catch up through a few assignments and a test. If the gap goes back several years, expect a longer runway, and I will tell you which situation you are in after the first few sessions rather than after you have paid for a term.

Ask me. You will get a straight answer, including if the honest one is that tutoring is not what you need.
